Former DU student-athlete Henry Craig (Class of 2016) continued his stellar rookie campaign on the ATP Challenger Tour on Thursday, defeating 2015 NCAA Singles Champion Ryan Shane in second round action at a USA F19 Futures Tournament in North Carolina in straight sets by a score of 7-6 (3), 6-3. In his first match of the main draw, Craig bested Vasil Kirkov 6-1, 6-3.

Craig will now face American Kevin King in the event’s quarterfinals. Prior to facing Kirkov, Craig defeated Cory Parr, Charles Sullivan and Trey Yates in his three qualifying matches in order to reach the main draw. Click HERE to view the complete singles bracket for this tournament.

In addition to his strong play this week, Craig reached the quarterfinals of a Southern California-staged Futures event in January and won the Men's Open in Ojai in April, beating top seed and ATP No. 341 Philip Bester of Canada in the final. The 22-year-old spoke with Colette Lewis about making the transition from college to pro tennis in May:
