Denver Men's Tennis Adds Two for 2016

University of Denver men's tennis coach Ricardo Rubio and assistant coach Drew Eberly, announced today that two student-athletes have submitted National Letters of Intent to join the program as freshmen in 2016-17: Sean Huynh (Toronto, Ontario) and Pedro Fernandez Del Valle (Newport Beach, Calif.).

Huynh, 17, has an International Tennis Federation (ITF) ranking of 575 and a Canadian National ranking of 17 (U18). His current year singles record is 14-8 and his doubles record is 6-8. Overall, he has a career singles record of 22-14 and a career doubles record of 11-13.

"Sean has been a top Canadian Junior throughout his entire career," Eberly said. "He is extremely hard working and we feel he can come in right away and contribute in both singles and doubles."

Del Valle, 18, is a five-star recruit and was the 47th ranked senior in the country (both ratings from He also has an ITF ranking of 434. Del Valle currently holds a singles record of 7-12 and a doubles record of 9-10 this year. Overall, his career singles record is 34-36, while his career doubles record is 32-34.

"Pedro is a very talented player that has a lot of experience playing internationally," Eberly added. "He is a very driven tennis player and we can't wait for him to join the team in the fall.

"We're very excited for Sean and Pedro to start playing next season. They're extremely hard working and we believe they will both be successful student-athletes here at the University of Denver."
