A student-athlete is not eligible for intercollegiate competition if the student-athlete (or parents/relatives):

  • 1. Negotiates, signs, or enters into any written or oral agreement with an agent;
  • 2. Accepts or receives any extra benefits from an agent or anyone who wishes to represent the student athlete;
  • 3. Uses their athletic skill for pay, or for the promise of pay;
  • 4. Competes with a professional sports team or receives any compensation from a professional sports team; or
  • 5. Receives an extra benefit that is not available to the general student population.

NCAA Bylaws 12.1, 12.2 & 12.3

All awards or cash prizes that a student-athlete cannot receive under NCAA Bylaws may not be given to another individual or agency in the student-athlete's name.
