Pioneers Pegged to Finish Seventh in the Summit League

ELMHURST, Ill. - With the 2017-18 women's basketball season fast approaching, the Summit League released its annual preseason polling of head coaches, SIDs and select media on Wednesday.  

Earning 143 points, the Pioneers were selected to take seventh in the league. South Dakota State (380) was polled to finish atop the standings, while Western Illinois (372) and South Dakota (307) round-out the top three.  

Oral Roberts (238) is projected to take fourth, Omaha (185) fifth, North Dakota State (150) sixth, and Fort Wayne (60) eighth.

Entering his first year as Denver's head coach, Jim Turgeon will lead the Crimson and Gold to their first game on the road against Air Force on Nov. 10.

DU will return to the Mile High City on Nov. 12, when Denver plays host to Northern Colorado.
