The Bruins’ Louise Ridderstrom took home individual medalist honors after posting a 3-under-par 213 during the two-day tournament, winning a one-hole playoff against teammate Bronte Law.
“We got off to another good start and finished well today,” head coach Lindsay Kuhle said. “I am happy for Jess [Dreesbeimdieke], who had a solid tournament. It was fun to see our players gain some confidence on this course. We have some work ahead of us before LSU and I am confident our team will put in the work and come out stronger and improved after the first half of our spring season.”
Jessica Dreesbeimdieke (Windhoek, Namibia) led Denver, carding a 13-over-par 229 (71-78-80) over the two-day, three-round tournament. The sophomore finished in a tie for 27th.
Katharina Baratta (Klosterneuburg, Austria) finished the third round firing a 6-over-par 78, closing out the event with a score of 232 (76-78-78). The freshman ended the tournament in a tie for 38th.
“We realize we can work on some course management and mindset techniques to shoot lower scores,” Kuhle added. “Hard work, confidence and preparation will be our main focus heading into the second half of the spring season.”
Mariell Bruun (Larvik, Norway) and Jessica Carty (Holywood, Northern Ireland) both delivered a score of 238 at the Bruin Wave Invitational, good for a tie for 59th.
Aleana Groenhout (Kirkland, Wash.) fired a three-round score of 251.
