Women’s Golf Set to Host Golfweek Conference Challenge

DENVER – The University of Denver women’s golf team is set to welcome 18 teams to the Red Sky Golf Club for the Golfweek Conference Challenge. The three-day tournament is set to tee off with 18 holes on Monday.

Par for the 6,216-yard course is 72 on the Fazio Course.

The field includes such teams as Michigan, SMU, Pepperdine, San Diego State, TCU, Arizona and Louisville.

DU is coming off a very strong showing at the Dick McGuire Invitational, placing sixth in a deep and talented field.

Interim head coach Kolton Lapa is going with the lineup of Sophie Newlove, Lauren Whyte, Mary Weinstein, Jessica Dreesbeimdieke and Camille Enright.

Newlove is coming off a 14th-place finish in the season opener down in Albuquerque while Whyte was just two spots behind at 16.

Weinstein looks to build on her 39th-place finish at the Dick McGuire Invitational.
