DENVER – The University of Denver women’s golf team got a nice boost to its national ranking with its second straight tournament win 10 days ago at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate. The Pioneers debuted at No. 24 in the Golfstat Top-25 women’s rankings for this week. The ranking marks the highest for DU since the spring of 2010. The Pioneers took home the team title for a second-consecutive tournament, winning the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate with a total of 15-under as a team score back on Oct. 8. The big victory was capped with a program-record 16-under final-round performance. “I couldn’t be happier for the girls,” interim head coach Kolton Lapa said. “They have been working hard and it is paying off. We are having a great week of practice this week and I know they are all excited to leave on Friday for UTSA. “The goal is always to be at the top of the rankings and this team is special. I am excited to continue to spend time on the road with them.” DU returns to action this upcoming Sunday to play in the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational. Denver will begin its final fall tournament on Oct. 22 with round one in San Antonio, Texas. PIONEER MOVEMENT:
