DENVER - The University of Denver women's gymnastics team holds the No. 9 spot in the final national rankings released before NCAA Regionals on April 1. It is the first time in program history that the Pioneers will enter Regionals ranked inside the top 10.
DU finishes with a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 197.040--a new program record--following a second-place finish at the Big 12 Championship.
RQS is calculated with the team's six highest scores of the season, at least three of which must be from away meets. The high score is eliminated, and the remaining five scores are averaged.

As a team, Denver is ranked inside the top 10 on three events and in the top 20 on all four events. The Pioneers are No. 7 on vault (49.255), No. 8 on bars (49.315), No. 10 on beam (49.295) and No. 16 on floor (49.220).
This is the first season since 2009 that DU will enter Regionals with at least one Pioneer ranked individually in each of the four events and all-around. Freshman Maddie Karr (Stillwater, Minn.) is No. 6 on vault (9.930) and No. 10 in the all-around (39.495).
Senior Julia Ross (Henderson, Nev.) holds steady in a tie for No. 13 in the all-around (39.410) and is also tied for No. 13 on beam (9.915).
Junior Nikole Addison (Fort Myers, Fla.) is tied for No. 18 on floor (9.915), and freshman Sam Ogden (Allen, Texas) is tied for No. 23 on bars (9.895).
Denver will learn its assignment for Regionals during the NCAA Selection Show, set for Monday at 2 p.m. MT on NCAA.com.
