[-/19] Denver Breaks Into Top 20 in Cascade Media Poll

Feb. 13, 2017

DENVER - Cracking the top 20 in the media poll for the first time since February 2015, the University of Denver women's lacrosse program came in at No. 19 on the Cascade Women's Division I Media Poll released on Monday, along with a No. 16 ranking in the US Lacrosse Magazine Poll, after upsetting then-No. 12 Stanford on the road this past Sunday.

DU's last time in the top 20 in the coaches and media polls was the week of February 23, 2015, when the Pioneers were ranked at No. 20 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll and tied for No. 19 in the media poll before taking a home loss to Louisville, ranked 13th and 15th in the respective polls.

Denver has yet to receive votes in the coaches poll as the first rankings came out in the preseason on January 30 and won't update until after this weekend's contests.

The Pioneers will return to Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium this week as they host [18/RV] Louisville on Saturday, February 18, with opening draw set for 3 p.m. MT.
