Denver Ranked 16th in Cascade Women's Division I Media Poll
Pioneers move up four spots in latest poll

DENVER— Although they haven’t played in a week, the Denver women’s lacrosse team (3-1) moved up four spots to No. 16 in the latest Inside Lacrosse Cascade Women’s Division I Media Poll released Monday.
Stony Brook, Denver’s last opponent on Feb. 25, remained in first, receiving 22 first-place votes and 459 points in the poll with a 4-0 record. BIG EAST team Florida (4-1) moved up two spots into fourth with 387 points. Colorado jumped up nine spots, into 15th and ahead of DU, sitting at 3-2 and 113 points. Stanford, who Denver defeated in game one, entered the rankings at 19 with a 3-2 record and 53 points.
Pioneer opponents Virginia Tech (Denver’s next opponent), Georgetown and Louisville were receiving votes, meaning seven opponents on the Crimson and Gold’s schedule were either ranked or receiving votes.
Up next, No. 16 Denver faces Virginia Tech at home on March 7 at noon. Admission is free.
