March 20, 2017

IWLCA Poll | Cascade Media Poll | US LAX Magazine Rankings

DENVER - The University of Denver women’s lacrosse program reached its highest rankings in the polls in nearly four years after reaching the No. 13 spot in both the IWLCA Coaches’ Poll and the Cascade Media Poll released on Monday, while also coming in at No. 17 in the US Lacrosse Magazine Rankings.

The Pioneers took down [-/RV] Temple on Sunday at a 14-6 clip to set up the premier BIG EAST matchup of the season when they hit the road this week for a contest against [3/3] Florida on Saturday, March 25. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. PT, 10 a.m. MT, at Donald R. Dizney Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.

The last time DU was ranked this high in either poll was the week of May 8, 2013. Following the loss to Stanford in the MPSF Championship, the Crimson and Gold came in at No. 13 in the coaches’ poll and No. 18 in the media poll prior to the start of the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Denver defeated Jacksonville in the opening round before succumbing to then-No. 4/4 Florida in the second round.
