Dancy Named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week

Oct. 2, 2017

ELMHURST, Ill. -- Senior striker Jessie Dancy (Park City, Utah) has been named the Summit League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Dancy leads the Summit League with nine goals on the season, after scoring two in her first three years with the program. The Denver senior is the fourth player since 2006 to score at least nine goals in her first 13 games, joining Taryn Hemmings (10 goals/2008), Kaitlin Bast (9 goals/2010) and Kristen Hamilton (9 goals/2011) on that list.

The player of the week award is the second of both the 2017 season and of her career, having also earned the honor on August 21. Dancy scored three goals in the league's opening weekend, including a brace on Sunday afternoon in the Pioneers' 3-0 win over North Dakota State.
