INDIANAPOLIS - The University of Denver women's soccer team will make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013, and its 10th overall, this weekend when the Pioneers head to Colorado for the NCAA First Round at Prentup Field. Kickoff is set for Sunday at 12 p.m. MT.

The two teams met in the first round in Denver's last NCAA Tournament appearance, a match Colorado won in the 84th minute 1-0 at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Colorado also took the 2017 meeting between the two squads in the 31st Colorado Derby on September 16.

Denver enters the tournament with an 11-8-1 record, having not lost in regulation since September 24. The NCAA Tournament bid is Denver's 10th since turning Division I in 1998, and Saturday's league tournament title was the Pioneers' ninth, all under 26th-year head coach Jeff Hooker. DU is 8-12-1 against Colorado since turning Division I in 1998, including 3-8-0 in Boulder.

The Pioneers are 3-9 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, with Denver's last win coming in 2012 against No. 4 seeded Maryland to send Denver to its first NCAA Round of 16 in program history. Denver also defeated Colorado College in 2012 to advance to the second round. Prior to 2012, Denver's only other win came in 2006 against Kentucky. The Pioneers would go on to lose to Colorado in Boulder in the second round of the 2006 postseason.

Student-Athlete Alumni Giving Challenge: In 2017-18, the University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. Former student-athletes can make a gift online, by calling 303-871-2388 during normal business hours or by sending a check to:
