LADY PIONEERS GO 26-7 AT HURRICANE INVITATIONAL

The University of Denver Women’s Tennis team opened its 2017 schedule in style this weekend, going 26-7 at the 2017 Hurricane Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma and winning several flights in both singles and doubles play at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

On Friday, the Lady Pioneers took on Wyoming and went 9-3 (6-2 Singles, 3-1 Doubles). The following day, Denver amassed an 8-4 record vs. tournament hosts Tulsa, going 4-4 in singles play and a perfect 4-0 in doubles. On Sunday, DU was a perfect 9-0 against Oral Roberts, winning all six of their singles matches and all three of their doubles matches. Student-athletes Julia O’Loughlin, Maureen Slattery and Claire Koke all won their respective singles flights at the event while three of Denver’s doubles teams (O’Loughlin-Slattery, Mok-Barnhill & Radosevic-Mboko) finished tied for first place in doubles play.
