For the fourth year in a row, the DU Pioneers are Summit League Women's Tennis champions. Denver defeated South Dakota by a score of 4-0 at Indianapolis' West Indy Tennis Club in the League's Title Match on Saturday, improving to 8-0 all-time at the Summit League Tournament with all eight victories having come in shutout fashion.

The Pioneers will now represent the Summit League at the 2017 NCAA Tournament, set to be staged from May 12-14 at TBD and May 18-29 in Athens, Georgia. This year's national tournament bracket will be announced on Tuesday at 3:30pm MT via NCAA.com.

Denver got off to a strong start on Saturday with the doubles teams of No. 15 Slattery/O'Loughlin and Mok/Barnhill both cruising to 6-0 victories to give their team an early 1-0 lead. Bianca Mok then reeled off a 6-0, 6-0 straight-set singles victory to double the Pios' advantage, with Summit League Player of the Year Maureen Slattery closing out a win (6-1, 6-1) shortly thereafter to put DU up by three points. The team win/League Title was then clinched by Julia O'Loughlin, who defeated Coyote Ellie Burns 6-3, 6-0 to give Denver an insurmountable four-point lead.
