Denver Set for Two Matches in Seattle

Feb. 1, 2018


The University of Denver women’s tennis team (1-1, 0-0) is set for matches against Fresno State and No. 24 Washington on Feb. 3-4 in Seattle, Wash.

The Pioneers enter this weekend following a 4-3 win against Dartmouth and a 4-1 loss to No. 7 Georgia Tech at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kick-Off on Jan. 27-28. Co-Captain Julia O’Loughlin headlined Denver’s performance at the ITA Kick-Off, defeating No. 78 Kristina Mathis of Dartmouth (6-0, 3-6, 6-4) and No. 49 Paige Hourigan of No. 7 Georgia Tech (6-4, 6-3) at No. 1 singles. The ranked victories earned O’Loughlin Summit League Player of the Week honors.

Denver is set to play Fresno State at 12 p.m. MT on Feb. 3 and No. 24 Washington at 1 p.m. MT on Feb. 4.


The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni participation will receive an additional $10,000 of support through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
